“When we lose ourselves, the journey back to ourselves IS the journey.”

I heard myself say this to a client one day and thought it landed in my body as awareness and truth. The healing path is really a return back to our true essence, our true Self. The Self that gets distorted, hidden by old wounds and unhealed trauma.

Every attempt to heal, every insight, every increase in self-awareness, every moment we recognize our shadow, all of it is part of the sacred journey back to Self. And there’s something incredibly beautiful about that.

Instead of seeing healing as painful or difficult, which it can be, we can begin to appreciate each step as removing another layer between who we are today and who we are becoming. Sometimes we don’t even know what that “becoming” looks like yet. But if we trust that the journey is guiding us closer to ourselves, then even the uncertainty, the searching, and the questioning, becomes part of the sacred unfolding.

It truly is the hero’s journey. Each of us is a hero in our own life, walking the path toward remembering, unearthing, and reconnecting with our soul and our essence.

THAT is the journey.
